Before the Colours Come

It is mostly green in the back garden right now. The youngest hydrangea doesn't have any blue blooms; I do hope they come this year. I cut a few branches off the magnolia tree to let a little more light in on its leaves.

The cone flowers have yet to show any purple petals, but it won't be long before the colours come.

In the meantime, these two photos will take me to Ireland.

I'm linking with the second Green Day at "Raindrops and Daisies". I'm sure Fiona would be happy to have you visit!

  2. Oh those green plant.... love the lushness and cool feeling of them!

Our little 'second hand' coneflowers are just barely starting to get a few blossoms on them.
I'm so happy that they've survived our freezes.... maybe they will thrive as your plants do :)

    Smiles :)

  16. We're still surrounded by colour as the June blooms hang around a little longer than usual due to our long, cool and wet spring.

  21. I read to put coffee grounds around your hydrangea bushes and dig in a bit. I am trying that right now on my new bush I got this year.

  22. Sunlit green in the garden is beautiful as you await the burst of color from blooms. Proven Winners has given me a dwarf hydrangea to trial called 'Bobo' and I'll be interested to see the flowers on it.
    Happy Canada Day Karen.
