Sunlit Sunday (#4): Ready for Card-Making

Recently, I thought I'd get some supplies to try a new hobby. Although I haven't made cards before, it seems like it might be a fun project!

Here are my findings (love those January sales): bright solids and a tablet of prints!

Take a look at the name on the package of printed paper: "One Sunny Day".
Really, isn't it just screaming for attention on Sunlit Sunday?
Just as well, given the shortage of true sunlight!

Just looking at these supplies brings a smile and puts a little sunshine in my heart.

As if the paper isn't cheery enough, ohhh the ribbons!
If you have any tips for a rookie card maker, please do share.

And now, it's your turn!

  1. Oops, can't eve spell my own blog name - auto fill always tries to beat me to it.
Anyway, Karen, I've been going to Stamping Up classes twice a month to make cards and just love it. We're a small group, all grannies around the same age but our instructor is a young 30 something. We make her laugh a lot with our antics and senior moments. LOL
You should see if there is an instructor in your area. I've bought many of my supplies from Michael's with the 50% off coupon - that's the biggest tip I can pass along.
    Have fun.

  2. Happy to link up to your lovely party. Love your ribbons. They look plumb yummy.

  3. Love the blue ribbon with the little green trim have fun with your new project can't wait to see them finished. Thank you for the party I love the name and the idea of it..
    hugs from Savannah.

  4. You have a lot of colorful papers and ribbons there Karen. You will have lots of fun creating cards with them.

  5. A lovely idea, I hope it goes well, your pics are gorgeous.
Who would think that a stack of ribbons would be so effective?
    Blessings, Jan

  6. Good luck with your card making. My daughter makes cards too. I was going to suggest the Michaels coupons as Judith did.

  7. Hi I am over from Cathy's blog and just love your Sunday party. Many times I just place a scripture quote on my Sunday post but what a wonderful idea to add the Sunlit Sunday. I plan to join next week. Blessings for a great week for you and family. I do several types of art and stitchery.

  8. What a colorful post, it is very cheery. Good luck with your card project. Have a great evening.

  9. What a great idea for a linky party. I hope to join in one day.
Making cards is a lot of fun. If you google handmade cards and choose images, you'll see lots of inspiration.
