There was some sunshine this week and I liked tracking its route throughout my little house. In the afternoon, the bright rays pour into my living and dining room, just the perfect time for knitting a few rows or reading a good book. (Or contemplating the choices regarding replacements for an old water heater; the new tank arrives this Monday.)
Sunshine came in a different form today. One neighbour cleared the fresh snow on the sidewalk in front of my house, so I popped out to thank him. I grabbed my shovel to do the driveway, and another neighbour came over to plow the base of it, where the city trucks deposit the snow as they clear the roads.
There may be grey cloudy skies overhead, but those two people were rays of sunshine to me.
Moving on . . .

Your sunny pictures are wonderful and I would love to curl up under that guilt...it looks softly broken in!
ReplyDeleteWe had to get a new water heater last week. Now are water is almost scalding hot, I have to get used to it.
Happy Sunday!
XO,
Jane
A fellow Canadian popping in from sunny Mexico!
ReplyDeleteYour photos today gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. Thanks so much for hosting this party.
ReplyDeleteSunlight streaming through the windows sure makes you feel a whole lot better, doesn't it? I think there is a new movement happening called kindness. Although your neighbours may have helped you out with the snow on other occasions, both on the same day must have been heart warming. In many of the blogs I'm visiting in the GYB party people are mentioning about showing acts of kindness. One of our young granddaughters started a Kindness Club at her school with a friend. I hope the movement spreads worldwide!

It looks like you found a bit of sunshine before the storm, Karen. You have good neighbours! Thanks for hosting and have a great week ahead. Pamela
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting. I found your link thru Carol, Buttercup! Very warm and cozy pictures today. I'm a little under the weather and your hot tea looks delicious!

The sunshine looks so pretty shining in your living room. I love the colors in your lamp shade. I could spend a whole day curled up under that quilt with a good book.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun iea to track the sunlight through your home! You have great neighbours!
ReplyDeleteOh, your week sounds comfy....for sure. But I know you feel 'thankful' to have such wonderful, helpful neighbors. I love the site of the snow but hate it when my honey has to get out there and shovel and snowblow.
ReplyDeleteBless you and your neighbors,
Gert
How lovely to have the neighbours help out with all the snow. I can't remember drifting snow like this for a few years. It does look like the worst is over so the shovelling, snow blowing and of course photographing will start today. Enjoy the day, hope that water heater is fixed soon.
ReplyDelete"There was some sunshine this week and I liked tracking its route throughout my little house."
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds so sweet!!!!! Throughout your little house. So, so, so, so sweet. And I would love it, if you would trace in photos, a route through all of your little house. I love, love, love to see where bloggers live. Especially, if they call their abode, a "little house." -happy sigh-

Good morning, Karen,
ReplyDeleteA soothing cup of hot tea, sunny rays meandering through each room, and considerate, kindly neighbours shooing away the snow, is a pretty cozy way to start one's day!
Thanks so much for hosting and wishing you a lovely week ahead!

The weeks have been going by very fast while we are visiting our daughter and all these grandchildren. Thank you for hosting. I like you, had seen some sun come through the windows this past week and even took some pictures also but lost them somewhere on this micro computer.
ReplyDeleteI knew a lady once who painted old water tanks and oil tanks into Ladies of the Garden and put flower pots on them, interesting and an idea to relocated your tank. Lol
It is great when help comes in the form of lifting heavy things, squashing big bugs or just with some of the small things in life, glad to have neighbours like yours. Take care, and enjoy the week ahead. Cindy
The assistance and team effort with the snow clearing must have been a lovely sunny moment in your week. How much nicer when people work together! Hope that the new water tank installation goes well, and that you have a good week. xx
ReplyDeleteAfternoon sunshine, a cup of tea, a cosy quilt, a good book - sounds perfect to me.Your neighbours sound like the best kind! Happy Sunday Karen!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! Hope I'm not too late to join in the fun. Some days there's not much sunshine to capture-caught the suns rays earlier and now they're gone again. A cup of tea, a warm quilt and a good book-sounds like a relaxing Sunday. Thanks for hosting :)

I like your tea cup and your jade plant is very nice. I had one that seemed to be doing wonderful and then it just started falling apart. I'm not sure what happened.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for answering my blogging question.... And telling me that my little "hearts" (♥) show up on your computer. I hope they also do, on each of my reader's computers... But I won't know, unless they are as sweet as you, and tell me.
ReplyDeleteTessa~
Hi Karen, I am so glad Susan brought me here. Thank you for coming up with the Sunlit Sunday idea. It helps us focus on the positive side of things.

Karen, your blog and the sweet bloggers I've met have cheered up this no-sunlit Sunday. What a great group of bloggers. So glad I found my way here. Take care and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteSuch sunny bright photos are a great addition to a post about people who have made your life a little brighter this week. Working together does make the work go faster. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThe soft and cosy flannel quilt would be calling me to a sunny spot on a couch!
ReplyDeleteLovely to think of neighbours coming together to help one another.
