I'm finding that it takes a bit more looking to find "pretties" in the garden now than earlier in the season.
The full, lush blooms of late June and early July have have given way to the hardy coneflowers and Black-Eyed Susans of late August, along with a few morning glories and some roses that are looking forward to cooler days.
It's good for me to remember that each day carries with it a bit of beauty,
sometimes overt,
sometimes more subtle,
and sometimes
completely unexpected.
Have a lovely week and thank you for your visit.
Your flowers amaze me as do your collages.
ReplyDeleteI use Picmonkey - what do you use?
Wow what a great closeup of the dragonfly Karen!
ReplyDeleteI just bought some Black Eyed Susans to give my garden some color. The roses are blooming for the second time but nowhere as pretty as the first time.
Have a great week. I hope it's a little cooler than it is here.

Karen your garden is lovely...I find that this time of year there isn't much left that doesn't look weathered and spent...my black-eyed susans are just about finished...yours are still looking lovely!

These are beautiful photos Karen and I love the framing and editing on them too. The garden is beautiful right now. Such a lovely time of the summer. Enjoy your week. Pamela
ReplyDeleteWow, great photos Karen.
ReplyDeleteYou did have fun playing with the photo editing - was it Photo Shop? I still haven't decided if I should get it.

Your flowers are so pretty. I did not get to garden much this year and Our garden has shown it. Just too much rain and heat. Soon with the cooler temps I can prepare it for a better next year.

Your collages are so beautiful, Karen! Love the rose, the coneflower, and the blue morning glory. There is beauty everywhere, if we just take time to look.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, it's a bit subtler in the garden these days, isn't it? Lovely photos, Karen!

I sometimes think my garden is looking a little tired and bedraggled. We need rain to freshen things up. But the flowers, other than the dahlias and cosmos, are definitely on the wane. You managed to find some beautiful shots in your garden, Karen.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and that shot of the dragonfly - priceless! I adore dragonflies.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this lovely post, and thank you for visiting my field trip home tour, too!
