Hope, the Foster Cat

It has been a couple of months since Hope came to me as a foster cat, my second one. She showed up at a couple's house and, seeing how she was thin, they fed her and sought out an animal rescue group that could help. They're very kind people to have taken the trouble to ensure this lovely cat's safety and well-being.

I don't know how Hope came to be living on the streets. No former home was found. She's a sweet, friendly girl, about 11 or 12 years old, according the vet. She has a heart murmur, only 4 teeth, came with an infection (now gone), and one or two other health issues. If Hope could talk, I bet she'd have quite a story to tell!

For all of that, Hope has settled in beautifully, loves attention, enjoys playing, and is a serious lap cat. She's also helpful and encouraging when it comes to me finally writing a blog post!

There will be more news later on any move towards someone adopting Hope.

I'm pleased to be linking with Judith's "Mosaic Monday" this week.

  2. How lucky Hope is to have you as a foster mother. She is such a pretty cat.
I had a cat come to my house this summer. She was a pretty orange cat and seemed so friendly. So I decided to adopt her. But she would bite me to the point of drawing blood. After my surgery I decided I just couldn't take the chance of getting an infection from a cat bite. So now she is out on a farm and they tell me that she is enjoying being out and going hunting,

  4. Hello Hope! Karen, she's so sweet! How lucky Hope is to have such a lovely friend as you to provide her with a wonderfully warm and cozy place until she finds her permanent residence. Glad she's doing better, and yes, I'm certain that if she could speak, she'd have some very interesting stories to share. For now, we can admire her for her loving nature and adaptability.

    Have a lovely week!

  10. Awwww...she seems to have had a rough life but is lovable all the same. I had a kitty when I was about ten years old. She looked remarkable like Hope. I was so extremely allergic to her, as was my father, We had to give her to a shelter after about a year, Your pics brought back memories of Cleo! :) You have a heart of gold.

  11. Hope is a lucky kitty to have you caring for her. Maybe someone will give her a forever home that doesn't mind loving a senior cat.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Karen.

  16. Hope looks so sweet; how can you possible give her up? I'd make a very poor foster parent for children, cats, dogs, you name it. I've got a weak spot. Bless you for taking on such a task. She is a lucky little kitty tohae such good care.

  18. Awe at that age, it would be such a sad shame to have to move her once again. I began fostering our cat and she is with us 3 years now...;) Maybe someone could help, but she looks like where heaven escorted her to be to me~

  19. Hope looks so sweet. I hope she finds her forever home soon. How will bear to part with her? Thank you for stopping by the Garden Spot. You asked about revenge of the garden crew? Knowing my daughter and her father if they are in the right mood, I could suffer. By the way, I really like your header.

  20. Don't you wish animals could tell us their stories!

  21. Hope looks very affectionate. She appears to be very happy receiving the care and love you are giving her. Hope is lucky to have found you. Living outdoors is so difficult, especially for an old cat with health problems.

  22. Hope looks quite beautiful and your pictures are so very flattering. It breaks my heart how some folk can mistreat animals. The fact they cannot tell their tale makes their suffering all the more poignant. Good for you for giving her love and a warm lap to nestle on.

ps And hurrah for yellow walls!
