One morning took me out of the neighbourhood and up over a bridge, where I paused to take a look at the train tracks heading east, wondering where people would be heading and why they'd be going there.
Another day found one nearby park in its misty, morning mantle.
I'm also fond of longer walks. A friend and I shared an impromptu stroll in the woods, after a delicious lunch at her home. That's one way to wear off a meal and a good place to chat about life.
Yesterday, it was a different forest to explore with my hiking group. We head out to a new location every month and hike for about 90 minutes. I find I can breathe in a forest.
Care to join me?
Your woods photos are stunning, and I admire your motivation to walk twice a day most days. It's good for you! What will you do when the snow flies, Karen? That's when I begin to lose my desire to do ANYTHING outside. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful area you live in. It's no wonder you love to walk. Thanks for sharing the beauty with us.
ReplyDeleteHaving a beautiful area for walks is so wonderful. Love the colors in your last photo!

Wow, 15 miles.. that is a nice long walk :) Walking outdoors is such good food for the soul. All the scenes you've showed us are very inviting, especially that last one. I would love to join you.
ReplyDeleteWe love going for walks ... a great way to keep fit and enjoy the scenery.
ReplyDeleteYou have some nice places to walk Karen. When the snow flies I move downstairs to the treadmill. I've thought about joining a hiking group, it would be fun.

lovely photos! I always go for a walk after work every day, getting a little exercise in beautiful surroundings grounds me and no matter what is going on in my life, I feel like a million bucks when I walk back through the door afterwards.

Hi,Karen,
ReplyDeleteYour walk must be refreshing. It is also the best time to enjoy walking! 1.5 miles is a comfortable walk...not so long and not so short. I like that long single railroad. I am long thinking to take photos of a single track but two lines.
Let's enjoy this fall, Karen.

A wonderful time to spend out walking too! And just lovely photos. I have watched an older couple (retired) go through my green belt behind my house everyday for years. I saw them at the grocery store once and realized that is how far they walk and then come back so I'm guess depending upon where they come from they walk maybe 3 miles. I hope to do this when I retire but today it is work again as I have a retail store which is open for bus....
ReplyDeleteOh I wish I could join you Karen! Love all your photos especially the Breathe. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your walks.
ReplyDeleteWhat great places to walk and such great scenery!! It is good to get out and breathe...have a great weekend Karen!

You know I might just start to join you and go for a little walk each day, I use too but have slowed down of late. Beautiful photos, lots of colour! Diane
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Karen. I love the last one with the word Breathe on it. I haven't been walking for several weeks due to hip and leg pain and am missing it terribly and the weather has been perfect for it. Soon I'll be complaining that it's too cold and wet to get out. :( Enjoy your beautiful walks in nature!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love walking? You see so much beauty around yourself! I miss being able to do this, and really love hearing of those who do. Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
If I had all this beauty in my doorsteps, I think I would walk all day! I'm glad to hear that you keep healthy habits, I admit not beeing so good in that!
ReplyDeleteLovely walks, you live in a beautiful place, Karen. I enjoy walking too, as often as I can, and love autumn walks through the woods.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.
