Back in the Garden

After thinking about the beginning of the school year and my memories of one particular first day (prompting a few of your own), it was time to get back to the garden and check on what is still alive and kicking.

The rudbeckia are doing well and make for a cheery bouquet.

The spirea is getting its second wind and starting to flower again.

A few roses are following suit.

Indoors and out, I'm enjoying the late summer blooms.

I appreciate your visit and the comments you leave. Thank you.

I'm pleased to be linking with the Cottage Garden Party at Fishtail Cottage.

  1. Karen...your flowers are still lovely - I should get back out in my garden and take a look around. I'm sure this week's cooler temperatures are making things look a little less haggard!

  7. Great pictures of your flowers from the garden! We also have here a beautiful after summer with even temp. up to 28 degr.C., that is very rare.

  8. Our roses have had a second wind and are blooming away in the rain. It's turned cold here, and soon everything will begin to fade in the damp, but for now summer is still fresh in memory and in parts of the garden.

  10. Hi Karen, Everything is looking lovely. I especially like the rudbeckia and the hydrangeas in the background of the roses. I feel a garden can never have too much yellow. Flowers add beauty and charm so instantly to a room. Have a nice weekend :)

  11. Hi Karen! I love seeing what is going on in your beautiful garden. I am loving the re-blooms on the roses this time of year. They also seem to have much richer color because the sun isn't fading them. I love the fact that we haven't had a killing frost yet too. We usually have a hard frost before the first of September so this is nice.

  18. Hi Karen, Your rudbeckia are so cheerful! I have tried to grow them but our property is mostly shady so they don't thrive. Now you remind me that I have to go check the spirea and see if it's blooming again. :)
