For me, it is a daily pleasure to walk around the garden and see what's appearing. Some of the daffodils are blooming and the hyacinths will soon be finished.
I like how these purple/blue flowers are closed in the early morning and then open as the sun warms them. I'll have to take a picture of them later in the day.
This is one of the clumps of tulips I planted last fall. Other patches of them are scattered about the garden beds and I know they'll add a cheery note to the place.
In some pots, a variety of pansies are flowering. They do so well in the cooler days and are always the first thing I plant in the spring.
I find this a "wake-me-up" colour.
The garden needs loving attention, but will wait awhile longer to receive it, as I'm feeling a bit under the weather right now (just a springtime bug picked up last week). It'll be back to raking, tidying and soaking up the sunshine soon. Come to think of it, I think I'll take my coffee outside and enjoy the fresh air right now!
Thank you for stopping by today. "How does your garden grow?" as Mary, Mary, quite contrary was asked.
Oh how wonderful to see the flowers coming along!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - I love seeing the daily changes too :-)
ReplyDeleteI put on my gardening gloves for the first time this week and it felt great!
So many pretty things in your garden! I hope you make a quick recovery!

Have a good day!
Glad you are enjoying some blooms in your garden! Nothing blooming here yet but things are beginning to peek through the ground. Hope you are feeling better soon so you can enjoy working in the garden.
ReplyDeleteThe gardens are growing each day. I noticed a small mini iris in bloom yesterday, the tulips are getting ready to open. I've been planting canna root and peruvian daffodil root and the peas I planted are beginning to poke through.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better, nothing worse than feeling down when the weather is improving.
Such lovely springtime blooms!
ReplyDeleteWhat are those purple blue flowers called? Is it a perennial?...:)JP
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see the flowers coming through after winter. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour blooms are all very pretty....Yeah for Springtime! Weeding and tidying up..necessary chores. The amaryllis and climbing roses are lovely. The zinnias and sunflowers are up and coming. The penstemon and butterfly bush are rivaling each other for attention! The dianthus, hostas, and dust miller are looking good. Daylilies will be in bloom in another week...the garden is good! Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHello Karen, I hope you'll soon be feeling well again. Your garden blooms are so pretty. Our tulips are done now, but I'll thoroughly enjoy watching the progress with yours as they bloom. Hooray for spring - she never fails to arrive.
ReplyDeleteI already miss the smell of hyacinths. My tulips have been blooming for few weeks-we are much more ahead with spring then you:)
ReplyDeleteHi Karen
ReplyDeleteSorry to read you're not feeling up to par, a few people I know have bad colds right now so I'm trying to stay clear of them. Finally, we are getting our blooms and warmer weather. I spent most of the day outside and I'm getting there with everything. Glenn still has to get the waterfall going - I saw frogs sitting on the ledges today so I told him they want it working.
If the warmth stays, we may get lucky and have even more flowers blooming. Hooray!
I'm sorry you aren't feeling well Karen and hope it passes soon. Your spring garden is really blooming well. I have a bunch of tulips that have buds on them. Maybe I should cut a bouquet before the deer find them. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose pansy photos are amazing! Your daffodils and hyacinths are lovely. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. With all that is going on out in the garden, it's too bad you don't have the energy to "play" in the garden. I love the color in your last photo. Get well soon. Christa
ReplyDeleteI hope that your walk around the garden made you feel better, your flowers are certainly looking beautiful, and your picture of the orange flower in close up - pansy? - is amazing!!!! You captured it so beautifully and in so much detail! Take care and hope that you have a good weekend. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather. A few friends and some family members have called to say that there's a nasty flu bug making the rounds around the GTA; have you heard? Hope you feel better soon. I'd imagine your beautiful blooms are therapy, in themselves. Your tulips look so healthy! Must be due to a good dose of TLC!
Happy weekend!
Poppy
Such fresh and pretty blooms! Our garden is very green at the moment, and the roses are all in bud just waiting for their big moment soon! I'm sorry you haven't been well and hope you feel better soon. Enjoy your pretty garden and have a happy weekend, Karen.
