I can't claim to be spending a lot of time in the garden, it's a bit toasty outside for my taste. That, however, is a poor excuse for my sluggishness of late. A good swift kick in the keister is in order!
My flowers don't seem to mind the hot, dry spell and continue to forge ahead, without watering. Once I figure out how to repair a faucet and hose that spray with reckless abandon, perhaps I'll give them a drink. Better yet, there is a chance of rain in the forecast. Here's hoping!
Lilies are blooming:
pale pink
and orange with red ones.
There you have it, a quick peek in the back garden.
Thank you for visiting. I appreciate you dropping by for a few moments.
Stopping by from FB to say hello :))
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are looking great
I love your pictures of your flowers... and hanging clothes :)... Come by from Facebook...
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are lovely. I need to get out into the garden for some flower therapy.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Karen!
ReplyDeleteI woke up just now, opening my PC. My day will start with your colorful flowers and T shirts!
Have a good day!
Tomoko
Karen, your photos and flowers are really beautiful. I love that pink hydrangea bloom! You're right that the clothes kind of go with the colourful flowers in your garden. It's warm and muggy this evening but clouded in with rain coming tonight and tomorrow. We need it too. Enjoy. Hugs, Pam
ReplyDeleteYour garden is full of beautiful flowers, Karen. And the laundry fits in so well! We're enjoying hot, but not too hot, sunny, dry days. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteKaren - things look fine despite the hot steamy weather we've been having - I have been lucky with not having to water my garden too much - we've been having daily afternoon storms for the last few days

Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are all so pretty and you clothes do match. It's been so hot and humid here and no rain. I have to water my flowers every day or two. I don't know if you read my last post but I am taking an extended blog break. I just have too much I want to catch up on.
I will be checking in once in awhile but might not be commenting.
Have a wonderful rest of the summer!
Barb
Your garden looks great! I adore the pink hydrangeas, coneflowers, and daylilies. Hope you get some rain (and us too)!
ReplyDeleteI will talk to the weather gods and see if they can send some of our rain your way. We've had 42" of rain this year (our average is 27" for the year). We are very wet but that being said no supplemental watering is necessary! I love the photo of your clothes hanging. We have HOA restrictions that don't allow us to hang clothes on a line outdoors. Looking at your photo brings back fond memories from childhood.
ReplyDeleteLove the colourful washing on the line. Garden is looking great too!
ReplyDeleteYes, we need some rain too in Western Europe. Your daylilies look gorgeous and the washing on the line, so pretty on the picture.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a garden like yours I wouldn't ever take holidays elsewhere!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, yes it is way to hot to be doing much of anything outside. I'm so glad for flowers that love the sun and are drought resistant. I love the fresh scent of laundry after it has been dried on the line. Stay cool, perhaps the end of the heat is in sight.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, Your garden is gorgeous! And I love the laundry photograph as it integrates so well. Just charming!
ReplyDeleteJust love seeing your garden! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking colourful, and you're right about the laundry coordinating with it. If you got the storm we did this afternoon, I'm sure it's a different story now. My daylilies look as though the rain has beat the colour right out of them. We were without power for a few hours too. But, at least it is cooler out now.
Judith
I hope you got that rain, and that it wasn't in the form of a big storm!
ReplyDeleteLoved your beautiful flower photos...your garden is looking fantastic. I have to say the pink hydrangea photo is my favorite. :)

So many gorgeous flowers, your garden is looking lovely, Karen! Love it when the washing on the line matches nicely too :)

Hi Karen, Your flowers are looking vibrant and beautiful. I'm also really enjoying that picture of the clothing hung up to dry :) So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the pretty rainbow of colors in the garden and on the laundry line. There is nothing like the fresh smell of clothes dried in the summer sun.

ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteYour garden is definitely not suffering from the heat, plus your little lovelies are so devoted to you; they're on their best behaviour! You know what? When I came to your last photo of the clothesline, it immediately struck me that the colours of your Ts and flowers are 'Popsicle' hues! Can you see the grape, orange, banana, and cherry charm?!
Poppy
They do match so perfectly...and that pale day lily...to swoon over.

Oh my, dear Karen,
ReplyDeleteyour flowers are amazing! So beautiful, even in that heat!
Here in Englad it's much cooler than ten days ago or so. The climate is wonderful, you go out with a cardi and even a thick cotton sweater at times.
The last pic is wonderful- love, love the pops of color!
Hugs,

Such beautiful flowers. A nice treat on this hectic Monday :) With our messy project going on, I'm not getting to tend my flowers as much this year. It was nice to see yours :)
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Karen,
ReplyDeleteYou have some beautiful flowers in your garden and your lawn is so very green. It is standing up well to the heat.
I love your white hydrangeas, I have problems growing white hydrangeas, they always turn pink. On the positive side at least I have lots of lovely pink hydrangeas to put into vases. Just a few more weeks and mine will be in bloom.
I love the summer colours of your t-shirts. It's nice to see a kindred spirit who dries their clothes on a washing line.
Enjoy your evening.
Best Wishes
Daphne
Hy Karen...
ReplyDeleteI'm really love your garden, beautiful!
