Something I like about the region in which I live are the many walking trails.
Recently, I followed one that led through:
meadows of goldenrod,
asters,
clumps of sunshine,
and a touch of thistle.
One side path led down to the lake,
while another invited me to a wetland area.
There was also a portion of the trail that danced through the woods,
and under a grove of sumac.
Lending a smile to the day was this creature, hardly part of the natural habitat, but happily hugging a white pine tree in the conservation area.
There was a lot to see and appreciate in under 2 hours.
I appreciate your visit, as does the purple tree-hugger.
An enchanting wonderland of the beautiful bounties of nature, from forest to lake to field of prettiness and splendour.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being our guide and relating the very wise words of a fellow walker!
Happy Autumn,
Poppy
That is a very beautiful place to walk, Karen. I love the wild flowers and black eyed susans in particular. The purple monkey sure is a fun surprise! It's a lovely time of year for walking as there aren't as many pesky mosquitoes and blackflies around. Pam
ReplyDeleteNow this is a walk I could get into.. and Mr. Purple monkey sure was an unexpected surprise..lol
