A Few Changes

There has been plenty of rain this summer. Flowers are flourishing, bees are buzzing and beans are bountiful. San Marzano, Sweet 100, and Austin Pear tomatoes are ripening on the vines. When sautéed and served with an egg on toast for breakfast, all three varieties are delicious.

August is a time for change; flowers become fruit and vegetables, great swaths of rudbeckia dance in the breeze, and the nights get cooler with each passing day.

Another change is the recent movement of Mosaic Monday from Mary's Little Red House to Judith's Lavender Cottage. Many thanks to Mary for creating and hosting the gathering for several years and to Judith for offering to continue this regular event.
Have a lovely week.

  1. Oh so true. There's a hint of fall in the morning sun here in the Pacific Northwest. You've captured it well in your post today, that ever so subtle reminder that autumn is on its way! Have a great week!

  6. A beautiful mosaic of summer's many changing moods, some teary, but nourishing, and others cheery and bright. I miss Mosaic Monday, and hope to rejoin as soon as time allows! Thanks for sharing your garden's sparkling personality!

  11. Changes are quietly creeping into the garden. We enjoyed kale, tomatoes and potatoes today with a small piece of beef cooked in the slow cooker. Looks like you have lots of beans still to enjoy.

I'm so looking forward to get back in the garden next month - my list of "must have" plants seems to be growing by the day!

  19. Wonderful garden pictures! Change is in the air here too. It has that pre-fall feel to it, and I am enjoying the relief from extremely hot temperatures.
