☀Sunlit Sunday: Season 3, Week 3

Welcome to Sunlit Sunday. Twenty-seven bloggers joined in last week; I hope you had the chance to visit many, or all, of them.

Sometimes, finding the bright side of a situation requires a bit of effort. The sun may be shining in the heavens, but grey clouds can mask the full power of its beams.

Even at midday, there wasn't a strong contrast between light and shadow. Everything appeared a bit more muted than usual.

With this exception.

The local Boys and Girls Club brightens up the lives of many children and has been doing so, as you can see from the sign, for over fifty years.

What "sunlit" find can you share? Everyone is welcome to participate.

(Thank you to those who follow the "My Little Home and Garden" blog and  Facebook page.)

  6. The Boys and Girls Club certainly puts some sunshine into many lives in your area Karen.
There is great beauty in your two winter images - I know, it's easy for me to say as I sit in the sunshine enjoying summer! But you know, I wish we had at least one snowfall a year here - it is so good for plants and trees by killing off the horrible bugs and making things more hardy.
Thank you for hosting this happy party!

  7. I was so proud of myself that I remembered my camera when we went kayaking. I had Sunlit Sunday in mind with each picture I took.

Boy, is there a disparity in our weather!

  11. A beautiful burst of sunshine and colour in that cheery sign showcasing all the wonderful activities available at the Boys and Girls Club!

The sun seems to be spreading a blanket of warmth over the countryside, and gently waking the bare branched tree for a day of brightness and hope.

Thanks for hosting, Karen, and have yourself a beautiful sunlit Sunday!

  16. I'm betting the kids really love the club -- especially this time of year -- they can stay warm and have fun! Lovely, magical shadows on the snow.

  17. Boys and Girls Clubs fill such a need. We have one here too.
Our winter days are so different from yours. I'd take a little snow in exchange for a little sunshine.

  19. The boys and girls club sign is bright and cherry but as for the weather, we're all about the same in Ontario I suppose.
I'm sure we'll get a peek at the sun this week and that should lift our spirits.

  21. Not a lot of sunlight here today, but you are so right about finding light in other places like the Boys and Girls Club who do so much. Thanks for hosting, Karen.

  23. Karen...there is light to found .. If we take time and have the attitude to look. Your photos are just lovely! The Boys and Girls Club provide such a valuable service. Ours closed last year due to lack of funding. A vital community resource to families and children lost. Thanks for hosting this fun activity! Smiles...Susan
